These images resulted from a week-long trip in April with friends. We stayed in Gatlinburg, TN which is adjacent to the park and has lots of choice for accommodation and restaurants. There is a great variety of subject matter in the park, from the lush farmland in Cades Cove, the recreated settlement at the Oconaluftee visitor's center, the sunset vistas from Clingmans Dome, to the streams and rivers that are everywhere. This is certainly a park that is quite popular any time of the year, although I suspect that the spring growth and the autumnal colours are the most photogenic.

	Cades Cove			Chimney Tops Trail in Snow We were quite fortunate to have snow one morning, which contrasted beautifully with the rich new greens of spring growth.
	Dogwoods in the Rain			Abstracts Once the sun gets high enough to generate harsh highlights in the forest, you can resort to various techniques to smooth out the tonal variations. Here I've played with vertical pan-blurring.
	Clingmans Dome This is the location for those layered views of receding hills. We happened upon an evening without a cloud in the sky.			Greenbrier Road

	Black and White There is quite a wide variety of subject matter that lends itself to black and white images. Here are shots of buildings, streams, dogwoods in bloom, and the snow on the trail and trees one morning.			Dawn
