Some advice:  always take your camera, since you just don't know when you'll find something special.  Such was the case on a business trip to Europe in early December.  Also plan your trip well, so that if you need to stay somewhere over a weekend, you take the opportunity to visit some place like Salzburg.   We walked around the old town in the evening as brass quintets played from church balconies above the Christmas market that had just opened.  The temperature was just below freezing, there was snow on the ground and more gently falling.  In short -- magical.  The next morning snow was still falling as we walked up the hill to explore the castle.  I have given some of these images a dream-like appearance which better captures how I felt when I was there.
